We're on a mission to change gift giving for good.

Business Insider came to Vermont to learn more about the story behind Shiki Wrap. Check out the video below:

A note from the founder:

It took a lifetime of loving gifting before Shiki Wrap came to be.

Gift giving has always been my passion.  One of my earliest memories is of taking a paperweight from my parents' desk, wrapping it and presenting it as a gift. I was probably about 4 years old at the time, so I wasn't able to buy something new at the store but I knew I wanted to recreate that feeling of joy and intimacy that comes with giving a gift.

As an adult, I’ve spent my entire career in the world of philanthropy and nonprofits. As a fundraising consultant, I love helping organizations and donors to truly connect with each other and experience all of the joy that comes with both giving and receiving meaningful gifts. And personally, I can get a little obsessive over my own gift giving.

For the past several years, I've volunteered to co-chair my daughter's school PTO holiday fundraiser which led me to research sustainable alternatives to paper wrap. When I realized there was no easily accessible, affordable alternatives in the US, the vision for Shiki Wrap started to take shape.

It's been a journey to get to this point, but the most wonderful part starts now - when I can share Shiki Wrap with you!  Only with you and others like you can we make gift giving more sustainable in the US, reducing the tons of paper waste generated each year, and reigniting the joy in that special, shared moment between gift giver and receiver.

Thank you for being a part of this story.
